This tumbler is glazed with a satin matte green glaze. It has a beautiful variation of greens and light browns. The surface of the glaze is smooth, but when you use a spoon in it, it will produce a slightly scratchy sound.
The bottom part is unglazed, but the clay is not porous and is waterproof.
